It’s officially fall, which means it’s time to break out all your favorite leather pieces. Although I’m a huge fan of leather, I’ve gravitated more towards faux leather styles over the years. They’re not only more affordable – but brands have done an amazing job updating their technologies to produce soft and luxurious materials that aren’t made out of animal skin. The best part is that no one would ever really know they’re not the real thing. As we head into a leather-centric season, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to share 10 of my all-time favorite styles that’ll get you in the mood for leather weather.
Bloomingdale’s One Shoulder Sweater | Agolde 90’s Faux Leather Denim Pants | Balenciaga Hourglass Bag (size XS) | Schutz PVC Strap Heels | Saint Laurent Sunglasses
These Agolde pants are unique in that 50% of it is made from real recycled leather. The other 50% is a mix of polyurethane, polyester and viscose. That said, the higher price tag is definitely justified – it’s literally as good as the real deal. I also don’t think it’s overly priced for having real leather elements. The relaxed, 90’s straight leg fit is my favorite feature. I love how it delivers a cool, relaxed feel no matter what you style it with.
Open Edit Cardigan Set | Good American Faux Leather Pants (also here) | Schutz PVC Strap Heels | Saint Laurent Hobo Bag | Saint Laurent Sunglasses (better for budget here)
I just got these faux leather pants and they’ve quickly become one of my favorites. The heavier material feels ultra luxe and also gives the pants a bit more structure. If you’re petite, then these pants have a full-length fit and end up looking really sophisticated with heels. I got the pair with the subtle metallic texture, which also adds dimension to your typical all-black fit.
Superdown Faux Leather Skirt (wearing an XXS) | Gray Off-The-Shoulder Sweater (exact color sold out) | Christian Louboutin Heels
I’ve had this faux leather skirt for years now. I’m sure you girls recall me wearing it in so many different ways throughout the year. I’ve since scooped up the newer camel color and simply can’t get enough of it. The length, figure-flattering fit and thigh slit are a match made in heaven.
Free People Tunic Sweater (better for budget here) | Blank NYC Faux Leather Pants | Givenchy Antigona Handbag | Christian Louboutin So Kate Pumps | Saint Laurent Sunglasses
Another faux leather staple I’ve had forever in my wardrobe are these Blank NYC pants. They’re just an all-around winner when it comes to versatility and fit. The classic skinny leg makes them so easy to dress up or down. I also love that they work with flats, heels or boots.
Abercrombie Camel Blazer | Anine Bing Chunky Knit Sweater (similar here) | Commando Patent Leather Leggings | Saint Laurent Solferino Bag | Christian Louboutin So Kate Pumps (better for budget here)
Patent leather leggings have become one of the pieces I look forward to wearing most once temperatures take a turn. Commando no doubt makes the best styles. I have both the tan and black pairs and enjoy layering them up with chunky knit sweaters, blazers and heels.
Similar Brown Coat | Nordstrom Brown Sweater | Commando Faux Leather Leggings | Sam Edelman Lug Sole Boots | Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini Backpack
Fall is pretty much synonymous with Commando’s regular faux leather leggings. I’ve reviewed these before, but in case you need a refresher, they’re soft, stretchy and look amazing on. The built-in liner sucks you in and conceals everything underneath. I can’t say enough good things about them.
Anine Bing Hoodie (also love this one) | Spanx Faux Leather Leggings | Adidas Swift Run Sneakers | NY Yankees Cap | Givenchy Antigona Handbag
I obviously can’t talk about the Commando leggings without talking about the Spanx. This pair has more of an athleisure vibe to it, making it great for styling with hoodies, puffer jackets and the likes. They’re the ones you reach for when you need all-day comfort.
Revolve LPA Sweater (sold out, similar here) | Majorelle Faux Leather Skirt | Christian Louboutin Leopard Heels (similar here, budget version here) | Gucci Velvet Bag | Givenchy Sunglasses
One of my favorite faux leather pieces is back in stock – but it never stays available for long. The cascading ruffle hem is so feminine and flirty, which makes for endless styling options. I can’t wait to wear this one more often with miniskirts trending in a big way again.
Blank NYC Faux Leather Jacket | Treasure & Bond Sweater | Commando Faux Leather Leggings | Adidas Swift Run Sneakers | NY Yankees Cap | Givenchy Antigona Handbag
BlankNYC basically reigns supreme when it comes to faux leather. They’ve nailed down the material in every silhouette possible. This faux leather jacket is the embodiment of that. It’s classic, edgy and looks great with any outfit.
Rag & Bone Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater | Rag & Bone Cropped Flare Jeans | Saint Laurent Hobo Bag | Christian Louboutin So Kate Pumps | Saint Laurent Sunglasses
Finally, here’s another one of my newer purchases – the Rag & Bone cropped flare, coated jeans. I always associate coated denim with faux leather since it has the same look. This particular pair fits like a glove – and the updated silhouette is everything!
