6 Outfit Ideas You Can Mix and Match Throughout Summer

Versatility is the single most important factor in my wardrobe when I’m shopping for new pieces. I just loathe the idea of wearing something once when I can put the funds towards something I can wear endlessly. With summer in full swing now, I wanted to share some outfit ideas that you can mix and match for infinite looks. There are six pairings that I feel can be rotated all throughout the season no matter where you’re headed. Most of these outfits consist of neutrals and basics, which make getting dressed significantly easier. Keep scrolling for my favorite combinations.
Balmain Blazer (wearing an FR34, better for budget here) | Topshop White Crop Top | Revolve Snakeskin Shorts (wearing an XXS) | Janessa Leone Hat (better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Envelope Bag (large size) | Castañer Wedges (better for budget here)
1. White Blazer, Cropped Tank Top & Printed Shorts
In the summer, shorts are one of the most worn garments in your wardrobe. While I strongly feel that you can never have too much of them, my favorite shorts feature a tie-waist and fun print. Over the past year, animal print has been all the rage and it’s such a great way to spice up your looks, especially if you’re often drawn to neutrals like me. You can pair a statement piece like this with black or white basics.
Gucci Belt (wearing a size 70) | Balmain Blazer (better for budget here) | Levi’s Denim Shorts (wearing a 24) | Chanel Medium Flap Bag | Similar Bodysuit | Givenchy Sunglasses
2. Black Blazer, Denim Cutoffs & Bodysuit
If I’m not wearing dressy shorts, I’m most likely wearing denim cutoffs. They’re great for weekend wear when you want to be casual but can also be dressed up with heels and a blazer. You guys know I always have both a black and white blazer on hand because they elevate anything – especially basic tank tops and bodysuits.
Lovers & Friends White Pants (wearing an XXS – runs large, size down) | Similar Crop Top | Saint Laurent Envelope Bag | Similar PVC Heels | Similar Celine Sunglasses (on sale now!)
3. Puff Sleeve Top & Wide Leg Trousers
Although my summer style tends to be more casual, I do love polished outfits like the one above. Tailored white trousers work with various tops including the cropped tank top in Outfit 1, the bodysuit in Outfit 2, and trendier statement tops. I’m obsessed with blouses that feature puff sleeves and sweetheart necklines this season, which also happen to pair well with denim.
Similar Knit Top | Similar Knit Skirt | Saint Laurent College Bag | Celine Sunglasses (better for budget here)
4. Matching Set
When I need to get dressed on a time crunch, there’s nothing that pulls me together like a matching set. The beauty of matching sets is that you can wear two pieces together for a seamless, coordinated look, but also split up the pieces into various outfit combinations. For instance, you can team a knit skirt with a cropped tank top – or pair the top with a pair of white jeans.
Grayson White Linen Shirt (similar here and here) | Levi’s White Denim (wearing a 24) | Hermes Belt | Christian Louboutin White Heels (similar here, better for budget here) | Janessa Leone Hat (better for budget here) | Bottega Veneta Bag
5. White Button-Down Top & White Jeans
I’ve echoed countless times on my blog that a white button-down top is a staple in my wardrobe no matter what season we’re in. Whether you tuck it into white jeans or denim cutoffs – or tie it over a dress, this top looks brand new every time. When I’m on the beach, I’ll often wear a white button-down as a swimsuit cover-up too!
Free People Black Dress (wearing a 0) | Schutz Lace-Up Heels | Celine Sunglasses (similar here, budget version here) | Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Tote (on sale now!)
6. Summer Statement Dress & Lace-Up Heels
Finally, everyone needs one dress that they can wear for a brunch date or date night. I love a lace mini dress because they feel feminine and romantic enough for the summer heat. They also bare just enough skin but can also be styled with a blazer if temperatures drop at night. You can’t go wrong with lace-up sandals for a day or night look.
