Activewear Looks You Can Wear Outside of the Gym

During the first few months of the year, all I want to wear is comfortable workout gear. And thanks to the athleisure trend, it’s become more acceptable than ever to lounge in athletic-wear all day whether you’re grabbing your morning coffee or making a grocery store run. The dilemma I often run into with wearing activewear is that it can come off a little too sporty – or just look unkempt. However, there are a few tweaks you can apply to make it look surprisingly chic too. Below, I’m sharing some of my favorite activewear looks that work outside of the gym.

Moto Jacket, Graphic Tee & Vinyl Leggings
One of my favorite pieces to wear lately is vinyl leggings. It’s the perfect thing to slip into if you like the comfort of activewear but want to avoid a sporty look. The high-shine effect and cool texture has an effortless, model-off-duty vibe that looks great with a shearling moto jacket layered on top.

Nike Beanie | Tom Ford Aviator Sunglasses (better for budget here)
Activewear Set, Beanie & Snow Boots
A sports bra and legging set is the easiest thing to wear when you want to be comfortable but chic; however, it can easily look like you’re headed for the gym. My trick to pulling it off on the streets is to go for a tonal look and mix in textures that you don’t typically see in the gym. Think faux fur, chunky knits, and snow boots.

Puffer Coat, Leather Leggings, & Matching Sneakers
If you’re going after a cool, street chic vibe, mix in brighter colors and add an unexpected jacket to play up your activewear look. You can keep this outfit from looking too basic by rocking accessories in similar colors.

Puffer Vest, Sweatshirt & Leggings
This outfit is proof that you don’t need to be dressed up to run a quick errand, but you can still look stylish. I love mixing activewear pieces with cozy winter essentials like this puffer vest and a pompom beanie. A pair of casual sneakers finish off the look and make it easier to tackle everything on your to-do list.

Hoodie, Joggers & High Top Sneakers
As much as I love leggings, they’re not always practical especially when it’s freezing cold outside. That’s where joggers come in for me. I find that mixing in luxe pieces like a structured handbag and fresh, clean kicks make it look less like I’m going to work out.
On me: lululemon Pom Pom Beanie | lululemon Cloudscape Jacket (wearing a US 2) | lululemon Bra | lululemon Pants | Similar APL Sneakers

Parka, Sports Bra & Leggings
For an outfit that you can wear from the gym to the street, it’s all about the right outerwear piece. When I’m working out, you’ll usually find me in leggings and a sports bra. I love throwing on an oversized parka on my way out to keep my midriff covered and warm!

Oversized Sweater, Leggings & Boots
There’s nothing comfier than a pair of leggings that feel like second skin and an oversized, snuggly sweater on top. It’s not only a great way to wear traditional activewear pieces outside the gym, but makes for an inspiring off-duty look too!
