Nothing says it’s the holidays to me more than sequins. It always feels festive and puts me in a cheerful mood. If you’re still planning your holiday party looks for the end of the year, I wanted to share some of the best sequin pieces you can grab now for all of the celebrations you have coming up. Sequins can feel like a holiday cliche but they really can make an outfit better. The trick to making it work is staying away from a head-to-toe sequin ensemble. With the right color palette and silhouette, you can easily swap out your everyday basics for them. Keep scrolling for my top sequin picks!
Outfit Above: Majorelle Sequin Joggers (wearing an XXS) | GRLFRND Bodysuit (wearing an XS) | Christian Louboutin White Heels (better for budget here) | Saint Laurent Sunset Wallet On Chain (also love this one) | Similar Wingback Chair
Lovers + Friends Sequin Top (wearing an XS) | GRLFRND Denim (wearing a 23, better for budget here) | Similar Chandelier Earrings (and here) | Christian Louboutin White Heels (similar here, better for budget here) | Bottege Veneta The Pouch Bag (in ‘Mist’ color)
I always incorporate a sequin piece into my wardrobe this time of year. In the past, I’ve worn sequin cocktail dresses, leggings, and skirts, but joggers are a great way to shake things up. You can tone down the sequin bottoms with a basic turtleneck or dress them up with a bodysuit. The ones I wore above are from Revolve but sold out super fast, so I linked some similar options you guys can still get in time for New Year’s Eve.
Structured sequin tops are such a fun and easy way to try the sparkly trend. They make putting the rest of your outfit together so easy since they’re already eye catching. Pair a sequin top with distressed jeans to make it feel more effortless and you’re all set for a night out or lunch date.
Dress The Population Sequin Dress (sold out, similar here and here) | Similar Nina Clutch | Steve Madden Heels
Whether you’ve planned a big celebration or will be staying in at home, the holidays are a great time to embrace the opportunity to dress up. Sequin dresses are not only feminine and statement making but so easy to pull together. Aside from neutral heels and a clutch, you don’t need to do much accessorizing. I found this sparkly number at H&M and couldn’t believe how affordable it is. It’s another one of those pieces that won’t be in stock for long, so scoop it up if you still haven’t found that piece to ring in the new year.
Scoop Sequin Crop Top (wearing an XS) | Scoop Sequin Skirt (wearing an XS) | Scoop Blazer (wearing an XS) | Alexandre Birman Tie Sandals
Flirty skirts are always a great piece to own, but sequins really make them stand out. Midi-length pieces are perfect for office parties because they’re chic and grown-up looking. But best of all, you can style them in so many ways for different occasions. You can transition it to an after party by throwing on a leather moto jacket and camisole – or wear it for a casual weekend with a chunky sweater.
L’Agence Silk Bodysuit | Alice + Olivia Glitter Tassel Mini Skirt | Saks Fifth Avenue Suede Pumps | Zac Posen Top Handle Bag
One of the newer pieces that is popping up more lately is sequin jumpsuits. I’ve always been a fan of them because they’re stylish and you don’t have to worry about coordinating tops or bottoms. I also feel like most people will be wearing sequin dresses, so jumpsuits are a great piece to look into if you’re wanting to stand out more.
