What to Wear for Memorial Day Weekend

With the arrival of warmer days comes more excuses to get together with friends and family. And there is nothing better than being surrounded by the people you love and some really good food and drinks! With Memorial Day weekend ahead, there are plenty of reasons to round up your favorite people for a casual BBQ or even to hang out at a local brewery. I’ve always viewed Memorial Day as the unofficial start of summer because the weather finally normalizes and I end up spending more time outdoors. If you’re looking for outfit inspo to kick off the long weekend in style, I wanted to share some cute looks that won’t break the bank.
For these occasions, it is all about looking cute and relaxed without sacrificing comfort. Lately, whenever I’m in need of quick, affordable finds, I usually hop on Walmart. A ton of new pieces just dropped on their site in time for summer, so it’s a great excuse to shop. Plus, you can still get those looks in time for the weekend since Walmart offers free 2-day shipping for most orders above $35. Scroll ahead for my favorite pieces.
Matching Top + Skirt
If you’re keen on dressing up a little more than just a jeans and tee, a midi skirt makes an amazing alternative. Walmart has a wide selection of really cute, on-trend skirts that are a great fit for Memorial Day weekend. Whether you want to mix and match your prints and colors or stick to a coordinated set, you really can’t go wrong here. Can you believe I scored this set for just $12? It’s such a great steal!
Statement Top + Denim
Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor those who have served. So, it’s time bring out those Americana vibes, which don’t get more classic than a pair of jeans and statement top. Look for tees and blouses with stripes, bold colors, or patterns to add some personality. Complete the look with some fun sneakers or sandals and a cute handbag!
Sundresses
If a sundress is more your cup of tea, Walmart also carries a ton of great options that you can re-wear all summer long. The great thing about a dress is the fact that it can easily be styled up or down, matching to the occasion. I have been eyeing feminine styles with lace and ruffle details that would even be suitable for a wedding. These dresses can easily be toned down with a jean jacket and straw bag.
Head to Toe White
Anything white is a summer staple that never goes out of style. I’ll usually go monochromatic when I need an easy way to look pulled together without too much effort. No need to worry about matching – just stick with one shade from head-to-toe whether it’s a dress or two pieces that you mashed up together.
Do you guys have anything special planned for Memorial Day?
