Summer Pieces To Transition From Work To The Weekend

The one thing I look for most when I buy anything for my wardrobe is versatility. If I can’t wear something multiple ways, I rarely buy it unless it’s for a special event. I especially love pieces that I can wear in different settings – from business meetings to date nights to running errands on the weekends. It’s hard to find pieces that work for every occasion, but typically wardrobe staples are the way to go.
Lately, my wardrobe mainly consists of basic staples from Nordstrom. I’ve found so many of my favorite summer pieces from there. Nordstrom is always my go-to retailer to build a foundation for my seasonal wardrobe. Not only do I love their selection, but their free shipping and returns make shopping so easy. I also love that I gain rewards points for every dollar that I spend – it’s always a nice little bonus when I get a Nordstrom note. Of course I shop at other retailers too, but the majority of my foundational wardrobe pieces (basics, denim, blazers, neutral accessories) tend to be from Nordstrom. I honestly just keep buying the same pieces in multiple colors because they can easily be mixed and matched together to recreate different looks. There are a few staples that I could buy over and over again because I get so much wear out of them. Keep scrolling for my favorite pieces that work for the office and the weekend – and all are under $100!
A Versatile Blazer
A blazer is probably the most versatile item in my wardrobe year-round. It’s the easiest way to make something office-appropriate and the easiest way to dress up basics for a night out. In the warmer months, I prefer lighter-weight blazers – which are great because they’re usually more affordable too. I love this Topshop one that I found at Nordstrom. It’s a modern fit and under $100. I loved it so much I bought it in black too. It comes in six different colors.

Statement Accessories
How pretty are these earrings! When I’m wearing basics, I always like to put on statement jewelry or accessories that will really elevate my outfit. This straw bag is another favorite recent find. I love straw bags for summer.

Neutral Heels
I feel like I can never have enough pairs of neutral-colored heels. They work well with any outfit and instantly dress up even the most basic outfits. These block heels are so chic and practical – block heels are always way more comfortable. These come in 19 different colors!

A Basic Bodysuit
A sleek bodysuit is easily dressed up with a skirt or trousers for the office or dressed down with shorts for the weekend. I’m obsessed with this knit bodysuit that’s under $30! I actually bought it in black too and have already gotten so much wear out of it.
