Weekend Getaway Essentials.

Sometimes a weekend getaway is all that you need to feel refreshed, re-energized and re-engaged. Especially this time of year, Phil and I tend to crave a weekend away from home. Working from home means we rarely leave work so a weekend away is sometimes needed to really disconnect and come back refreshed. We like taking road trips to nearby states for a getaway or even to visit family. If we don’t have the time to commit to a drive, we’ll opt for a staycation where we’ll stay at a nearby hotel for the weekend. There are a handful of hotels in the downtown area near us that we love with great spas and restaurants. Spending the day at the spa is one of our favorite things to do when we’re traveling so it really does feel like a vacation for us. It’s also a great opportunity to try out new local restaurants that we might not otherwise venture to (we tend to be homebodies on the weekends).
When it comes to packing for a weekend getaway, there are just a couple of essentials I need – a great bag and comfortable heels. I have been on the hunt for the perfect bag for short weekend trips – when rolling luggage just isn’t necessary. Phil has a great cognac-colored duffle bag and I’m always saying how I need something similar. I was so excited to find this one by Sole Society and it’s just $85. The quality is great, it’s super durable and the oversized style fits everything that I need plus all the stuff I inevitably pack, but don’t ever use. I also got these gray booties from Sole Society which have the perfect heel size to be stylish yet comfortable too. I love the quality of everything I get from Sole Society and they are always up-to-date on the latest trends.
